Was flipping through a book I borrowed from the library (perhaps overdue?) called 'The Spirit of Peace" by Hatier. This book is a compilation of teachings from the Dalai Lama. And knowing my obsession, there is at least one quote on each page that I'm dying to put on my wall. Which by the way, is already cluttered with pictures, more quotes and my numerous to do lists. For someone who is neither working nor going to school, it's pretty darn impressive the things I can think up to do :P
Anyways, here's a quote that HAD to be mentioned.
" Even if your selfishness is a fact, then let it be a wise selfishness free of narrow mindedness, and free of thinking of everything in terms of yourself. Who is refusing happiness? Who stubbornly holds on to stupidity? Who is content with frustration? If you want to be selfish, then let your selfishness be well informed rather than irrational."
Talk about the biggest insult to selfish people. Although we deserve it, it still sounds pretty harsh. In one little exert like that, a selfish person is implied to be stupid, stubborn, irrational and an underachiever. This man has wit.
