Flying High

Motivation is the key word of the week it would seem. This past week has been nothing but doing all the things I have been putting off for the few weeks before. It's all coming together now it would seem.

WORK

Did I ever mention that I got offered a job? Today was orientation, it was paid too so yay! Can't wait to start getting paychecks again. Then maybe now i can go eat out without feeling so guilty I would kill myself. And movies, and concerts, and shopping. The simpler things in life :P The work is going to be very challenging yet rewarding so, let's see how things go. We're gonna get trained in Non-violent Crisis Intervention as well, so that'll be exciting.

VOLUNTEER WORK

Training is still going on. Today was my 2nd shadow shift, lets just say that it has been really interesting and for the sake of confidentiality, I am unable to discuss the details. Haha, that would drive you guys nuts I know. The person I was shadowing today is a career counsellor who is trying to set up a personality workshop for our volunteers. We talked and if it does go through, she'll let me help her out. Connections, connections. The other day too, I was getting a crash course from a classmate on selling your ideas to get funding. He knows lots about doing up proposals and making presentations. I'm impressed. It's fascinating how everyone brings to the table, a different strength. Ever wondered what yours would be? I've wondered about mine, but no answers as yet.

SCHOOL

Very interesting as always. Tomorrow we're gonna have a guest speaker come into class. I believe she is gonna be talking about her own experience of sexual abuse and suicide. It shall be interesting, no doubt about it. Hmm, I'm also getting more comfortable there now since I'm no longer the new student. We've had 4 new students since I started. Just to give you an idea of what a tightly knit group we are at school, if somebody doesn't show up, people will call you at home to see if everything was alright. Neat, huh? It's awesome.
