Last night on my way out, I bumped into my roommate just coming home with a guy in tow. So then I asked her this morning if the guy is her boyfriend, and she said yes.
Then she asked me if the guy I was with was my boyfriend, and I said no.
Roommate: Oh. Do you HAVE a boyfriend? I thought you said you did.
Me: Nope.
Roommate: But why, you're a pretty girl...
Me: It's complicated.
Roommate: Yeah, it always is.
LOL!!!
Could not help but try to hide a smile. That's the thing, see. My point exactly.
Only beautiful people have partners? So not true. But alas that's the way society seems to view partnerships. Umm, the fact that I said partnerships must mean something lol
Anywho my point is that society seems to think that if you're not part of a couple, there must be something wrong with you? That you're part of a reject pile of sorts? Harsh but true don't you think? True as in that's what ppl think. There MUST be something wrong with you, god forbid there are some people who do not WANT to be in relationships. No, no that would be going against human nature...
Sheesh!
I don't know. Maybe there is some truth to it, maybe there isn't. I am currently in no mood to debate that.
Just thought that lil bit of the conversation was cute. She's really sweet btw, I am in no way criticizing her.
