Browsing through the library walls 2 weeks ago (the travel section of course) I came across this book by a certain Dr. Ang. As if it was not enough that the title was awe inspiring, the author of whom the story was about originally grew up in Singapore. In addition to that, yes there's more, I later found out that she was born in Malaysia!! No other than Penang!
While being a physician certainly made it easier for her to work abroad, it was sheer determination that pushed her to action. It started out with her watching the news on tv one evening showing the bombings that were going on in Lebanon. This was back in 1982.
What was it about this woman that made her pack up her bags and be on her way? What was she thinking? How did she do it? It would be awesome to get a chance to interview and meet her one day. What would it take?
