Dreams Be Dreams

Jack Johnson once said, or still says everytime I play track 4 on his CD, "don't let your dreams be dreams."

For the second time, I'm reading Coelho's - Alchemist. The essence of the story is to follow your dreams. Some people give up too soon, some people don't even want to try, some people don't care and some don't know how. What is this thing with dreams?

It's so abstract, not unlike life in many ways. There is a certain risk in following your dreams. Well for one, is the dream really your destiny? Who knows. Many a times I've though I wanted something only to be disappointed when I got it. What if you've followed the path to the very end with dedication and have it not result in anything? Is that possible?

Dreams are very tricky.

I believe it was Morrie who said that no one can regret following her/his heart. Is this really true? Hmm. I really don't know.

I suppose, there's no way to know in advance.. Personally, I somehow can't really see how achieving a dream can be dissapointing, could that probably mean that what was achieved is not the real thing yet, as in, there's more to it? Probably it really is all about the journey?

Heheh... you're right, it's tricky.. but let's not stop, yeah?

Some dreams are not meant to be. Some dreams are just meant to be broken.

Either way, having dreams, in some small measure, is essential for us to move forward. It makes us create goals for ourselves.

Everyone chases dreams at one point in their lives. They either make it, or don't. It doesn't matter, at the end of the day. At least we could tell ourselves that we tried our best, and we move on from there.

At any rate, what's the worse that could happen? Dreams make us feel that there's a possibility that we could be better than what we are now.

Hey M,

Yeah like you really really want something but when you have it, it's like...meh...not as great as I thought.

S,

Kinda cruel isn't it? To have a dream that could and will never be achieved? Guess in the end it's about making peace with what is?
