History class, tomorrow - discussion on a novel by Remarque.
This novel is written from the point of view of a twenty something year old German soldier in WW1. People say this is an easy read as there are only about 300 pages at most. Three hundred is a lot to be reading for one night. We were given a week and a half to read it but I wouldn't be me if it wasn't left to the very last possible minute. So tonight, I'm stuck at home reading a stupid novel.
Printed on the top section of the cover - THE GREATEST WAR NOVEL OF ALL TIME
Having read a couple of war stories in my time, I'm sorry to say that this isn't very impressive. I am more a fan of (auto) biographies. They are just so much more plausible and real. Dare I say all this in discussion tomorrow? We were supposed to ponder on the worth of this book to a history student. Dare I look the prof in the eye and say - This book is useless, not to mention a bore.
Haha...surely the book can't be THAT bad. Am already on page 118, but do not really know what the point of the book is. Go figure.
