Spending the past weekend in Van confirmed my love for city life.
The traffic, the people, the pollution. I love it all. There are so many Chinese people there it's unbelievable.
In the city, people always dress better and look cooler cruising down the freeway in their much needed car. Mum and dad have decided to help me out with buying a car. So we are now officially car hunting. Preferably find one before the week is out so I can maybe drive it to Van with me this weekend when I move. Arrghhh...so scary. I haven't driven very much in Canada, now I need to drive all the way to a different city? How scary is that?!
One thing good about all this scari-ness is that I'm out of my comfort zone. Wasn't it someone or another who said that we should always push our zone a little farther in order to learn and grow?
Btw, I have already found a place to live. It has been confirmed. The basement suite is shared by 3 people including me. It is on a hill, so quite a nice view from the living room. Very clean and I will have 2 roomates so that's good. I hope we become friends right away. One rule that they said right up front is that we are not allowed to leave dishes in the sink. They need to be done right away. I guess that shouldn't be too difficult. Umm...right? :) hahaha...
Mum and dad showed some interest in moving to Van when I was chatting with them yesterday. They too are accustomed to city life. What's holding them back though is fear of the unknown, I think. And for that I feel kinda proud of myself, being the first to venture off and all.
There are tons of fears and doubts in my head surrounding the whole moving to Van issue but sometimes we just have to go with our gut feelings. And mine says that Van will eventually be home. So just go ahead and do whatever needs to be done.
