Number of applications sent out for full-time work: 3
One of the full-time ones called this morning. I have a job interview on Monday.
The job itself is one worth considering. Although the pay isn't awesome, it's something to start with, I suppose. What I like about it is that they are willing to train me in HR related work. As the store manager of Sears told me yesterday, in HR people always have to work their way up. Successful people in the HR industry rely on their personality more than anything else. Do I have what it takes? I'd better...
Anyways, as I see it, there are 4 problems that I might encounter.
1) Improve my typing capabilities to more than 40 wpm - yes, I suck at typing. For some reason, there's always the need to look at the keyboard. Hope they'll let me do that. Otherwise, there really is no hope whatsoever :)
2) It will take about an hour to drive to work everyday! Which is really quite far. Considering the fact that I do not know how to drive in snowy conditions, driving in the Winter would not be a good idea.
3) The jobsite is located in Surrey. People have been known to get killed in Surrey for standing at the sky train station.
4) I have nothing to wear to the interview!!
Another thing. This company is filled with "seasoned investigators trained in eliciting information and drawing out accurate responses."
It is their JOB to analyze each person. I have no doubt that a psychometric test will be administered. They are skilled at getting the information they want...there's simply no fooling these people. How scary is that? They will be all over my body language...omg omg omg...don't freak out!!
I'm freaking out, aren't I?
