Vancouver, Oh How I've Missed Thee!!

Oblivious to the fact that a surprise awaited me, I walked into work on Thursday like any other. Bam! I had the next 4 days off from work! Oh my holy smokin cow!

Friday night - We went to watch Los Furios play again. They were only the opening act but man they rocked my world. Despite the fact that all but 2 of us stayed long enough to watch the featured band, it was a fun night. While the dancing was good, I now also enjoy watching the drummers. Man, what would it take to be able to play in a band? Anywho I swear the bass guitarist smiled at me!! Haha, I swear!! He had a smile that was to melt for. So hot!! No wonder I'm their #1 fan!! Yep, I went wearing my groupie T-shirt and whatnot. Awesome night.

Saturday - Off to Van it was! Again...holy smokin cow, knew I missed that place but didn't realize how much! Met up with E and we all went mall hopping. The token H&M just opened in Coq Centre and I had to go check it out. The clothes were pretty cute but there was no way in hell I would have waited 30 mins just to try something on. So we shopped there until it closed at 6pm then carted ourselves off to Metrotown and stayed until they closed at 9pm. We ate and laughed and shopped til we literally dropped. After dinner met up with D and we went to M's house where I stayed over night. Fun times.

Sunday - Cheap breakfast places are my favourite weekend mornings to-do. We had to wait almost an hour for our order to arrive but it was worth the wait. The coffee was good! So while we chatted over coffee I totally realized how much M has changed since she's been with this new guy. Like wow. That's another post on it's own. Went downtown to meet J after brunch and we shopped all day! Didn't even stop for lunch but man was our dinner one to remember. Indian food with J and D was AWESOME!! It felt SOOOO GOOD to get dressed up, head downtown to a nice restaurant, have a beer and chat with friends over awesome food. I finally felt like the young woman that I am! So yeah we were people watching and being watched all night. It felt so swanky! Like in Sex & the City! Oh get this. After dinner we walked to a dessert place but enroute we stopped by a bookstore that was open late. We browsed through the many wall to ceiling bookshelves for about an hour, joining the rest of the hip downtowners. It felt good, good, good. Then D walked us home before leaving himself.

Monday - Woke up bright and early to have breakfast with I and J. We drove in circles coz some of the places were closed thanks to it being a stat holiday. Finally settled on Jane's for sucky coffee but decent food. We headed downtown to do more shopping before J finally had to go to work and I had to leave Van *SOBZZZZZZZ*

The trip back was long. I no longer enjoy the ferry ride across now that I've done it a million times. So 7pm finds me back in Vic. Tired but totally glad for the trip.While I didn't get a chance to meet up with all the people I wanted to see, it felt so good to see the ones I did. Gawd how I missed that place. Ahh to be young and cool again!! Can't wait to move back!
