Insane Happiness

Yeah, insanely happy today. It really does take a crappy situation to make you appreciate your regular mundane life. Or what seemed like a regular mundane life.

Exam day came and gone! It wasn't perfect but good nonetheless.

Went for dinner at the Choi's. They truly are the nicest people. There are nice people in every imaginable race in the world. When you are in their presence, you can just feel the warmth and general good will. I want to be like them. I want to be the person that people come to for comfort. These are the genuine people who make the world a better place. You know they will love you no matter what. One question I always ask myself when judging another person is whether he/she will be on my side in a conflict. Even if I was in the wrong, would this person be able to understand why i did the things I did and feel compassion.

The answer is a yes for the member of the Christian, Korean Choi family and also a yes for the Buddhist, Tibetan family in India. A similarity between these two groups of people is that they are happy. The amount of help they give to others is above and beyond what is necessary. They deserve to be happy themselves and they are.

The key to happiness then lies in being selfless. Only by helping others and genuinely wanting the best for people will bring you personal satisfaction. The Buddha said this and now I believe him.
