Job Hunter Extraordinaire

Well, not so much. It has been a month and still I am a girl without job. Woman god dammit, woman.

588 Vancouver Street turned out to be a Church. The word blasphemy came to mind. Will I shrivel up and evaporate into thin air? Although I was not brought up a Christian, the Church has always been such a condescending figure for me. I walked in and on the outside of the office were printed the words something something diocese. More of the unfamiliar.

As it turned out I need not have worried. The lady that interviewed me, director of the youth homes, was very friendly and approachable. I liked her almost immediately. While the interview went okay, it was a little tense at the beginning. At one point though, when we started talking about the kids it was like we were having a regular conversation.

The hours did not work for me at that job and truth be told I'm not sure she would have hired me anyways, but she was sweet enough to end it with me calling her back with my availability. It sounded like she's planning on starting up an afternoon position and we talked a little bit about that. That would be awesome, just driving these kids (teens) around for whatever they need to get done. Be like a friend and yet support them in their efforts to enter into adulthood as successful adults. Ahh I love this field of work.
