Yesterday I was driving in the car with my dad, coming home from the bank. As we turned the corner a police man stepped out from his little hiding place and flagged us down. The first thought that came to mind was maybe dad cut into the right lane too quickly. So he pulled over like any law abiding citizen would.
"License and registration, please. The reason we stopped you today, sir, is because you're not wearing your seatbelt."
In amusement I watched my dad put on his "but sir..." face and launched into a whole story of how he was just turning the corner after visiting his son's store.
Which was true but I just found it to be extremely funny. The police officer needless to say was not one bit interested!
After getting a ticket for $170 courtesy of the City of Victoria, my dad cursed. Again, so amusing. It was short lived this time. Dad said we shouldn't tell mum. To which I replied, "why not??" He said that it would upset her and spoil her day.
Alright...right there and then I was witnessing a rule of thumb that's as old as age itself. Men and women are fundamentally different. No two ways about it.
From a woman's perspective, I'm thinking that he doesn't have anything to hide. It was an honest mistake. Althought he has been negligent about wearing a seatbelt for 7 years (oh wait, his entire life...) it was nothing to be ashamed of. It was his choice and he paid $170 for having taken that risk.
Fine. So why hide something as small as that when you don't have to. If she ever found out (which she will) she would be fuming mad. Not so much about the ticket but from the fact that he hid it from her. Then she would of course wonder what else he has taken the privillege of keeping from her.
So there. It proves it. Men and women are different.

It's just so...simple. Yet, they don't get it. I don't get it. lol. And now we're all confused. Go figure!!
