Today will be the absolute last day for me here in Dharamsala. It's coming to the 4th day and I am ready to move on, or rather should move on. There is just something about this place that makes you wanna leave everything behind and be as nature intended. Waking up to the sight of nuns and monks reading while pacing back and forth on flat rooftops seems so unreal. In addition there is also the backdrop of the snow capped Himalayas with eagles soaring by every minute or two. You tell me, would you want to leave?
For the past 2 nights, I have been renting a room at a nunnery about 5 minutes walk from the centre of town. Sometime at the beginning of last year, I remember surfing the sites for volunteer opportunities here in Dharamsala and teaching english at this place was one of them. At that time, it all seemed so intimidating. Can't believe I'm actually here. Not teaching this time but it would be nice to. If I did not have to return to school in the summer, I would have stayed for at least a few months.
Yesterday we went to the Tibetan Childrens' Village about 20 minutes walk from here. It was very nice and it's good to know that they will all grow up to be very fluent in English. Then I went to get my hand painted with Henna --Indian style! Finally got it done right and it cost very little. In the evening, the nuns had a Puja ceremony and I got to sit in there. They are all so funny and friendly. Think I might go to hell coz in the middle of it all, they tried to show me something but as soon as I tried it, they all cracked up! Seriously, it wasn't my fault. They made me!! Hehe...those girls are hilarious, truly they are.
