Things feel so different now. Not only in terms of location but responsibilities. All of a sudden, I have to do everything for myself. Can't call mum and dad for help. Can't call on my best friends to come help should I get a flat tire. It's all me, myself and I. Somehow when I looked in the mirror today, it felt like I had aged significantly in the past week. This is not necessarily a bad thing. Perhaps matured would have been a better word.
Day 1 - Nic and I took the ferry across at about 6pm. Did not arrive at my new place until about 9 pm. So proud of myself for driving all the way here! I am indeed a big girl now :) Add two star stickers to my board for a job well done, if you please. Funny that driving in the city came so naturally. What I like most about driving here is that as soon as you turn on the turning signal, you go. People will let you cut in. On the island, you turn on ur signal forever and then cut in as the car is approaching. Weird, huh? People there seem to be overly cautious. Another plus side to driving in Van...the traffic reminds me of home :) Nic and I were supposed to watch a movie on my pc that night but she dozed off.
Day 2- Nic and I went shopping downtown. She bought a pair of athletic pants which I so want, but decided against. The 2 pairs that I already own are testaments to the fact that some people should not wear tight pants. Anyways Nic took the 6 o'clock ferry home and for the first time ever, I was alone in Van. So then I did what every decent woman would do in a situation like this. I went shopping. Only this time it was for groceries.
Day 3 (today) - Spent most of the day unpacking. In the evening, went to check out the rec centre close to here. What looked like a couple of short blocks turned out to be a 40 minute walk. Should have driven the car! My ana-mobile (name courtesy of Ash) was left alone for one entire day since I got it 2 weeks ago.
Anywho...the lowdown on my roommates would have to wait. Sleepy time.
Good night Vancouver...Ana... has left the building <---said in my best narrative voice
